High Point Area to Undergo Zoning Boundary Change Hearing
Guilford County planning board will hold a public hearing Wednesday at the Administrative Building on rezoning land west of Kersey Road and south of NC 62 to agricultural and residential uses. County planning director Perttu Virtanen says the move would establish clear city county lines from Jamestown to Randolph County. Also on the agenda is approval of site development plans for an apartment project on Nora Drive near Friendly Road in Friendship Township.

Closure of Guilford EOC training program ends January 31
In Greensboro an anti poverty program run by Guilford County Economic Opportunity Council will shut down January 31 after federal officials refused to extend operations. The Educational Associates program began about a year ago with a 500000 budget and aimed to train up to 100 low income residents in electronics related work. Only 26 remained in the program on Thursday with few job placements. Trainees protest the closure while EOC officials vow to continue job placement efforts amid staff turnover and funding disputes with the federal Office of Economic Opportunity.

One Way System Bids Sought for High Point Links
State Highway Commission announced bids will open Jan 26 for downtown High Point connectors.
