In Los Angeles AP reports Sierra Engineering Co and its Sierra Sam, a 6 foot 200 pound foam latex dummy, test parachutes and rocket sleds for the Air Force. Sam, built since 1949, withstands 100 g’s and has evolved with electronic sensors to measure heat, cold, G forces, shock and wind velocity for space travel safety tests.
