Farm project relocates tenants to hosiery mill work
The county project started in 1933 under the Interior Department subsistence division and was taken over by the FSA in 1937. It comprises 195 farm units on 9,800 acres with 164 occupied. It aims to relocate low income tenant families to small farms and supplement income by wages from a hosiery mill.
