Rescuette Squad forms in High Point as one of three such U S groups. Mrs Presnell heads recruitment with Lt Greene in charge as first lieutenant. Members must be 21 or older of good character. Meetings held first and third Tuesdays at the Chamber of Commerce rooms. Notify Civil Defense office for details.
Church circles and circles of the Woman's Society of Christian Service at Montlieu Avenue Methodist and Green Street Baptist hold meetings this week. Circles meet Monday to Tuesday evenings at various addresses including 1613 Guyer Street 1208 Montlieu Avenue and 1132 Montlieu Avenue. Night WMS at Green Street Baptist gathers Monday at 7 with Day WMS following Wednesday at 10 in the chapel.
Mrs. S. C. Clark will preside at the High Point Garden Club meeting. The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the club venue.
Garden club members meet at the Shyee De E Shopping Center then travel to Greensboro for a lunch outing.

Miss Caroline Ann Atkins and Bernard Lee Smith plan a July 1 wedding at Colfax Baptist Church Colfax. Miss Atkins is a Greensboro business graduate employed by Prudential Insurance Co. in Greensboro and a granddaughter of Mrs. W O Atkins. Mr Smith is a senior at North Carolina State University Raleigh and a member of Blue Key The Golden Chain Alpha Gamma Rho. Both are Northwest Guilford High School graduates.
The Alexander chapter will meet Tuesday at 2:30 p m with Mrs H A Millis at 1109 N Main St. Mrs James R Fox chair man of the national defense committee has asked James Woollen army reserve captain to speak. The executive board meets at 2 15 p m.
