High Point Enterprise (Newspaper) - January 5, 1974, High Point, North Carolina Charlotte policemen charged Charlotte a five Charlotte policemen have been charged with store breaking and larceny while patrolling a Northern Section of the City according to a police spokesman. The spokesman said Friday the five resigned after being suspended from the Force. Details of the alleged offences were not immediately available. Police officials referred questions to Mecklenburg county dist. Atty. Thomas f. Moore or. He was not available for comment. The men charged were identified As j. H. Greene r. W. Helms v. E. Giansante h. W. Bruce and k. M. Smith. The spokesman said merchandise valued at less than $1,000 was stolen from several stores. Bruce was reported to have been a member of the police Force since 1967. The others were said to have joined the Force Between March 1971, and june 1972. E. The vote was 454 to 374. The Council of Ireland was hoped to be a Means of ending the traditional rivalry Between the protestant dominated province and the mainly Catholic Republic. If the vote takes moderates away from the Faulkner Camp the militants Victory May also jeopardize Ulster s coalition administration. The coalition Faulkner Heads along with moderate catholics was sworn in just five Days ago and is Ulster a first attempt at sharing Power Between catholics and protestants. The protestant hardliners strongly oppose any Catholic involvement in governing Ulster and any move that takes them closer to Dublin. They fear the Council of Ireland is Only the first step toward unification with the Republic.
