He hints he would resist foreign occupation but might accept protests and diplomacy if Americans pursue Communists across his borders. The Cambodian chief’s remarks appear contradictory yet purposeful.
The United States tentatively increases Britain’s armament purchases by 100 million to total 825 million, allowing Britain to bid on items like ships and aircraft. The plan preserves competition with U.S. firms and mirrors Britain’s own rising defense outlays, though no firm awards are guaranteed.
