Coaches End Conference Elects 1948 Officers and All Star Team
The National College Soccer Coaches association wrapped a two day meeting in New York by naming officers for 1948 and selecting a mythical all star squad from top college players. Three Navy men and two from Temple and Swarthmore led the picks, with Even Jones of Haverford the lone repeat. They urged unlimited substitution and proposed removing the throw in for an indirect free kick. Bill Jeffrey of Penn State became president, replacing Lawrence Briggs of Massachusetts. Navy named outstanding southern team.
