Two Men Rob Crossroads Grocery in Thomasville
Davidson County Sheriff reports two men robbed Crossroads Grocery at United and Blair Streets Friday. One suspect entered and demanded cash with a gun, taking $1,200 and a 30 caliber pistol. Deputies continue the investigation.

Commissioners Approve Funds For David Caldwell Research
The Guilford County Board of Commissioners approved 10000 for historical and archeological work at the David Caldwell Log College site in northwest Greensboro. Mrs. C C Jeffress said a 20000 challenge grant from the General Assembly must be matched locally, totaling 40000 with local and matching funds. The 18 acre Holden Hobbs Roads site was purchased with federal aid and a 90000 city grant, to honor Dr Caldwell and his students with planned site improvements.

Man Wounds Self Then Crashes Car in Gas Barn Lot
Danny Thomas Chriscoe, 24, of Dorris Avenue, was admitted to High Point Memorial Hospital with a shotgun wound to the chest and possible injuries from a traffic crash. Police said the shotgun wound was personal safety related. he is listed in guarded condition. He shot himself in a Gas Barn parking lot on West Green Drive around 1:27 a.m. Officers said his car then crashed into a building housing Buddy's Auto Trim, causing about 3000 dollars in damage to the building and 700 dollars to the 1969 car.
