Luna 20 Returns Moon Soil In Unmanned Mission
Soviet Tass reports Luna 20's 11 day flight brought back several ounces of basaltic soil from the Sea of Fertility. The capsule landed near Dzhezkazgan and was recovered intact though likely battered. Scientists aim to use the sample to probe the moon's origin and the solar system's beginnings.
