Henderson Named Walter Clark Professor at NCSU
David E. Henderson has been named Walter Clark professor of industrial engineering and head of the industrial engineering department at North Carolina State College. The appointment was announced by Dean J. H. Lampe after a unanimous faculty vote. Henderson, formerly chief project engineer for Indian Motorcycle in Springfield Massachusetts, will assume duties soon. The Walter Clark professorship honors the late North Carolina Chief Justice and was endowed by Judge Clark’s children. Henderson’s background includes work at Wrights Autographic Machine, service in industrial engineering at State College, and war production roles with Edwards Company and Curtis-Wright.
