High Point Park Area Beats Ideal Standards
Washington report to the National Resources Board notes High Point exceeds the Park Service ideal for park land. The city should have one acre per 100 residents, with 12 percent of acreage for play sites and 15 to 18 percent for 15 to 30 acre play fields. Neighborhood parks per square mile of residential area are advised, with active recreation prioritized per local conditions.
