Asheville reports WWNC inaugurates its municipal radio station with widespread response from coast to coast. A mountain moonshiner wired in claiming reception is fine while using his copper still as an aerial. A reader from Alabama praised WWAC as coming in strong. W Scott Tyndall Dies Suddenly at Home

W Scott Tyndall a merchant tailor in High Point died suddenly at his Oak Street residence from heart failure. Born March 29 1886 in Casey Illinois he married Margaret Curry in 1916 and moved to High Point from Binghamton New York three years ago. He is survived by his widow and his parents. The body was shipped to Danville Illinois for funeral services.

Thomas Cooper Unfurls from Prison on Delayed Release

Thomas E. Cooper former Wilmington banker to be freed Friday after commuting his three year sentence for violation of the national banking act. He is to be turned over to Wilmington authorities on a state charge related to the same case. Cooper 43 had been at the federal penitentiary since February 20, 1925.

Man Held on Abduction Charge for 12 Year Old Girl

Richard Winston 35, a carpenter, faces a continued hearing on abduction allegations involving Helen Mettry, 12, who vanished from her home and was found with relatives in Norfolk. Winston, free on 1900 dollar bond, admits taking her to Norfolk but denies improper conduct. Mettry family closed their Syrian merchant father Mike Mettry’s store during searches. The case was continued at defense request.

Aged Woman Dead in Taylorsville Ul

Miss Margaret Campbell died in Taylorsville Ul on February 21. She would have reached 190 in June and was the last of seven children. Her brother died at 87 and three sisters at 83 89 and 95 years old.
