San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Project Soars Amid Plans
Uncle Rays Corner reports on the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge now under construction since 1933. It will span two and a half times the Golden Gate, total cost about 77.2 million dollars, funded largely by RFC loans. It features 44 underwater piers, centert spans of 2310 feet, towers 475 to 519 feet, and a two level design for autos trucks and interurban cars.
