Five women are named as semi finalists for the first annual Diana Award for High Point by local ESA chapters. Winners are nominated for unselfish community service. local winner advances to state and international competitions in St Paul Minnesota this summer.

The Good Deed Club met Sunday at president Mrs. Evie Thornton’s home with Mrs. Annie Bradley giving a devotional on love. They reported clothing donated to a fire victim, visits to rest homes, cards to shut-ins, and plans for Easter giving and sick visits. Birthdays for Mrs. Thornton and Mrs. Geneva Knight were noted. A lingerie and flower gift was sent to a member in a rest home. Next meeting is a March 10 dinner at the Coach House with a lock-in.
