Unique Sea Shells Make Up James Wadsworth Collection
James E. Wadsworth, UNC housing director and former Navy lieutenant, showcases more than 100 tropical sea shell species collected from the South Pacific during 1944 45. The exhibit includes a Pearl Oyster Conch, Chambered Nautilus, Triton's trumpet, Turk's cap, and hundreds of smaller Pacific shells kept in a Japanese chest. Wadsworth aims to spark interest in live-shell collecting and plans a WUNC TV show with Scott Turner for May.
