Four Killed In Head-On Collision Near Lumberton
Four people died and two were injured in a head on crash between an automobile and a tractor trailer car carrier near Lumberton North Carolina early today. The victims include Mary Lou Mathews 28 of Norfolk Virginia and her two year old son James Randall Mathews and Emmie McDonald Mathews 40 of Hemingway DC and her son Curtis 3. James M Mathews husband of Mary Lou was injured and is hospitalized at Robeson County Memorial. The truck driver William Creech of Norfolk was treated for cuts and injuries and hospitalized. The crash occurred on US 301 seven miles south of Lumberton at about 345 am as the family was en route from Norfolk to Hemingway.
