Elsie Ilvonen, a grandmother of nine, works full time as a lobsterwoman in South Thomaston Maine with her husband Carl. She handles the rear deck baiting traps and tending main traps on the Sisu, a boat named after Finnish fortitude. The pair work 10 to 12 hours daily during lobstering season, sharing a hard working life and a passion for the sea.
