Miss Theresa Abbott was honored at a lingerie shower hosted by Mrs H L Thompson at 1611 S Norwood Ct. A pink carnation corsage with pearl hearts was given on arrival, then lingerie was presented. The couple to be, Mrs Noel Abbott and Mrs John T Cook attended, with the wedding set for Feb 11 at Woodlawn Baptist Church.

Cornelius florist Hugh Smith drives bloom force for the Southeast ern Flower and Garden Show at the Charlotte Merchandise Mart March 4 to 12. The seventh annual event features 21 gardens 35 room settings and a commercial area with garden supplies. Smith a 1966 American Academy of Florists honoree operates 18 000 square feet of greenhouses and is joined by his sons Albert and Hugh R Jr both graduates of North Carolina State University.
