White Youth Center Opens Amid Registration Interest

Six youths listed at the White Youth Center as registrars said more boys and girls can join the club. Acting Parks and Play Director Reese Snider noted adult registrars will operate daily from 1 to 4 pm at Alderman Site Service building and Henley Hotel center. Officials reported no registration at the Negro center and about 1,000 whites showed interest in the center club. The opening was scheduled for Saturday January 1 at both centers, following City Manager Roy S Braden and council discussion that centers would not open without demonstrated youth interest.
