Labor Support Seen Rising for GOP in 1956
Senator Potter predicts increased labor votes for the Republican ticket in 1956 citing a pocketbook motive. He expects Eisenhower to seek re election or, if not, a GOP standard bearer pledged to continue the Eisenhower program will win. He cites a Detroit survey showing about 20 percent of 1952 Stevenson voters would back Eisenhower in 1956. The labor vote fear factor is said to be blown away as workers gain larger pay and improved living standards. The note on diamond-rich regions at end reflects unrelated mineral facts.
