Eisenhower Gets Big Greeting From French In Paris Streets

In Winston Salem North Carolina on December 14 a black service station attendant was charged with raping Mrs Al DePorter wife of Wake Forest College basketball captain W R Burke. Detective Charles Moore Jr. 27 signed a statement matching the account given by Mrs DePorter 25. She said Moore took the DePorter family car from a service station to their apartment and forced a return trip to the station. She reported the man threatened her with a knife and attacked her on a deserted dirt road.

High Pointer Held On Charge of Rape

High Point police say a man from the service station where he worked abducted and raped a woman near campus. The suspect, Moore, surrendered after a pursuit and a knife was recovered along the road. He has a long criminal record including a 1955 attempted rape conviction and multiple assaults and thefts. He awaits arraignment and a preliminary hearing.

Protest Filed Over Action By Southern Railway Tariffs

Business Recession Foreseen by Chamber Economist

Four Children Die In Blaze In Chattanooga Housing
