New Light on Franklin Arctic Quest Found in Stefansson Cairn
Vilhjalmur Stefansson discovered a cairn on Prince Patrick island containing 1853 records by McClintock seeking Franklin. The note dated May 28 1847 and two skeletons were found near Point Victory. The find supports the fate of Franklin and adds to Arctic exploration history.
