Escapees Sought After Prison Break in North Carolina
MARION N C officers continued a search for three of five prisoners who fled a Caldwell County road. Joseph Daniel Brooks 26 of Hickory was captured at the wreck scene at 1 30 a m and Larry Hartley 17 of Granite Falls was arrested six hours later while walking a rural road. Still at large were Hudson Newland 24 and James Mcfield 27 of Johnson City Tenn Hartley Kale and Brooks admitted stealing five automobiles and breaking into locations in Catawba County Crump faced an assault with intent to kill charge and Raffield faced breaking and entering charges.
