Subdivisions For 238 Homes Win Approval
Two residential subdivisions with 238 lots received tentative approval from the High Point planning and zoning commission. Kavanagh Smith Development Corp. plans 156 lots off Cedrow Avenue east of Gordon Street and Pinewood Development Corp. 82 lots between N Centennial Street and Guyer Street. Home prices are expected to run from 14000 to 15000 dollars. The commission also approved three business use applications and rejected one by M B Minton for a plastic products facility expansion in a residential area. Plans include new service stations and storage facilities with screening requirements. The board will study a new zoning ordinance, seeking a middle path between scrapping zoning and fully preserving it, and will hold an extra monthly meeting to advance the overhaul, the first since 1947.

Landowner Promises To Seek Right Of Way Solution
A landowner who sold High Pointers lots says she will try to obtain additional street right of way to meet city zoning. The planning commission, after annexation, may apply pre annexation rules, potentially allowing relaxation of curb requirements.
