High Point firms donated 1,000 dollars each to print a 75 page catalog for the North Carolina Furniture exhibit at the State Museum of History. The catalog, created by the museum associates, covers design evolution from 1700 to 1900 with softback and hardback editions. Over 1,400 catalogs have sold as orders come from multiple states.

High Point after-school events and holiday programs

The High Point Jaycees and Center Theatre co sponsor Saturday kid die shows from Jan 7 to March 11 with 10 films from the Motion Picture Associations Children s Film Library beginning at 10 a.m. Season tickets cost 2 with 1 admission for non season ticket holders. Proceeds go to the Salvation Army Boys Club. The High Point YMCA offers a winter adventure camp over Christmas break for grades 1 6 with hikes crafts archery air rifle and swimming plus transportation. The Parkview School PTA meets Tuesday at 7 30 p.m. in the cafetorium. The Holiday Inn Downtown hosts its annual Christmas Tree Floating on Wednesday at 6 p.m. with a decorated tree in the pool and Santa messages. All adults and children may attend.

ARC Office Gets New Sign in High Point

The Assn of Retarded Citizens ARC office in High Point has a new building sign erected last week by TMA students from Leonard Street School. The project taught community involvement. Teachers Jackie Gray and Martha Sechrest lead the TMR program serving 36 students.
