Court of Honor Christmas Lights Set for Week End
The December Court of Honor for Scout troops in High Point was held at Wesley Memorial church. Nineteen badges were awarded including 11 merit badges two star badges and two palms. Lights for Christmas decorations will be hung by Friday night and turned on Saturday night with sockets ordered and crews ready. The decorations will run from Wesley Memorial church on North Main to Commerce Street on South Main.

Plans for New Athletic Field Here Furthered at Conference
Definite plans for a new baseball park and athletic field with a modern grandstand were advanced at a Commercial club meeting. C. T. Willis offered a free site on the High Point Thomasville road if $7,500 is raised from 100 box seats for five years at $75 each. The field will seat over 3,000 with varied sections and will host High Point college teams, public schools, amateur leagues, and Y M C A programs.

Local Delegates Return From Morganton Conference
Delegates from western North Carolina report the Older Boy's Conference in Morganton as the best yet with about 250 youths attending. Fifteen from High Point represented local Sunday schools and youth groups. Bob Morrow joined the findings committee. Rev. Ralph Harner spoke on Christian Youth Ideals. Morganton hosted with open homes and strong hospitality as South Carolina held a parallel meeting in Florence.
