Harry Golden Pardon Revealed

Charlotte based author Harry Golden disclosed a presidential pardon for a 1929 New York mail fraud conviction and a 1942 Birmingham case, both tied to a bucket shop scheme. He served three years for the first offense and five years’ probation for the second, saying the two cases were connected. Golden founded the Carolina Israelite in 1942 after moving to Charlotte in the 1940s.
