Greensboro bulletin reports the North Carolina Social Action Board will hold its first meeting Tuesday afternoon in Raleigh. Miss Mary Price, executive secretary treasurer, says the gathering will shape plans on education legislative and economic issues.
The High Point tuberculosis association marks the 38th annual Christmas seal sale with about half the $8,000 local goal raised as the drive runs through Christmas. The program funds health education, early case finding, and a permanent Negro planning committee, with territory including Sumner, Deep River, and Jamestown townships.

Milton M. Roberts, 44, of Rocky Mount and formerly of High Point, died suddenly at home. He lived in Rocky Mount about 10 years and was a salesman for a leading tobacco company. He is survived by his wife and one son. The body will be shipped to Washington, Georgia, for burial.
The Family Service Bureau board of directors announced the 1946 standing committees at a meeting led by president Mrs Valette J Harris. New members were welcomed and positions assigned to C Cridlebaugh, Mrs R J Quigley, Mrs W D Simmons Jr Mrs W Hall H P Morrison Lucille Johnston and C M Allred. A month’s service test was presented by case worker Miss Margie Wagner. The board decided to hire a full time stenographer and discussed recruiting an executive secretary though no applications had yet been received.
The city will receive the fifth of five closed type garbage bodies for its collection fleet on Tuesday. Manufactured by Gar Wood and ordered through Baker Equipment in Charlotte, it matches the design used by North Carolina's Raleigh firm. Four units were already delivered and installed on Fort Bragg vehicles. the new truck will increase the fleet to ten new and five old units. Sanitary inspector Clyde Cannon will oversee Tuesday's delivery and installation.
