Supreme Court Reverses Judge in Guilford County Case
The North Carolina Supreme Court unanimously reverses Judge Justice in Guilford County ruling against Porter et al, removing the cloud on title to part of the courthouse square property acquired in 1873 from W C Porter and W Caldwell. Justice Clark notes no easement exists beyond the two lots conveyed for a public square. The decision narrows county easement scope and voids implied restrictions in prior deeds.
