Bridge bidding traps and overreach in spades play

In a spade oriented deal, South opens one spade opposite an opening preempt. Island site would host giant Tennessee Chute Harbor project

Memphis plans a $22 million riverfront development on President's Island to tame Tennessee Chute and create 7,200 acres of industrial sites. Dredging began in 1948, with 66 million cubic yards of fill and the Cartagena dredge moving material to form a 2,000 by four mile site. Col. Earl P. Houston leads the project under the Memphis and Shelby County Harbor and Port Commission, aiming to boost industry and flood control with a new channel, levee, and sewer extension.
