Byrnes Hospitalized Heart Attack Feared

Former U S secretary of state and Supreme Court justice James F Byrnes was admitted to Baptist Hospital in Columbia with a suspected heart attack. Syria Declines to Free Six Israelis After Hijack

Syrian officials said they would release all passengers aboard the Trans World Airlines jet hijacked to Damascus except for six Israelis. The Boeing 707 was seized by a young Arab couple identifying with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. An explosion damaged the cockpit as the plane landed, but most passengers and crew escaped unharmed. Counterattack Near Da Nang Presses Vietnamese Division
