Extended tax reduction fund task for two extra months
The state tackles the extended two month term of the tax reduction fund. A 1 600 000 allotment, part of a 17 000 000 six month total, will finance two months of extended term costs. State aid to special charter districts will cover the gap between district levies and projected expenses, with some districts receiving no aid.
Statewide tax study outlines 14 cent extended term
White Eagle cents and the extended term prompt state wide averages of 14 cents. In many districts a 14 cent levy will not cover extended term costs, with the state paying the difference. Martin reports budgets from 75 counties so far. A 1,500,000 tax reduction fund is due to be allotted within two weeks after budgets and equalization calculations are completed.
