A Nassau–St Petersburg wireless report traced Paul Redfern's flight from Glynn Isle Beach. The Georgia aviator aimed for a sea southward course then landfall near Puerto Rico, across the Caribbean toward Grenada Tobago Trinidad and into Dutch Guiana before deciding at Macapa on the Amazon coast whether to turn to Pernambuco or Rio de Janeiro.

T A Wilson president of the North Carolina Federation of Labor went to Henderson to survey conditions among textile strikers. He planned to visit Lieutenant Governor Elmer Long in Durham to discuss a settlement between strikers and Harriett Cotton Mills owners and asked for arbitration, which he said he would await from either side.

Coroner Testimony Marks Trial Of Willis Widow And Man

Airplane sighting reported en route to Brazil

A Nassau radio message through station 4AQF said a plane piloted by T bathed was sighted 300 miles east of the British Bahamas en route from Brunswick, Ga., to Brazil. The steamer arriving Nassau at 11:40 p m reported the craft at about 2000 feet heading south.

Redfern’s Rio flight possibly over Porto Rico unseen

Paul Redfern, the Georgia aviator, in a Stinson-Detroiter, may have crossed Porto Rico during the night en route from Brunswick to Rio de Janeiro. Reports say lighthouse and city lights would help him steer if within 25 to 75 miles of the island. Local weather was excellent.

In Chamonix France Aug 26 the Montenvers cog railway disaster raised a death toll to 21 with about 30 injured as a crowded car plunged into a ravine last night. The wreck occurred on the famed Montenvers line returning passengers from the Mer de Glace. Authorities and rescuers worked to recover victims and aid survivors.

Greensboro报 reports the North Carolina firemen completed a four day convention praised as the best in association history. Morning foot races and afternoon engine races drew thousands. Two mill villages in Manchaug Massachusetts and White Rock Rhode Island were liquidated by B B and R Knight Inc. in a long auction after post war decline. Manchaug sold 74 houses a farm and three mills for 9100 while White Rock fetched 80795.
