Fear Grows For Quake Victims In Yellowstone Area
After last Monday’s seismic disaster in the Hebgen Lake region, nine are confirmed dead and more than twenty still missing. Relatives from Washington, Massachusetts, New York, and California await word as searches continue for eight Anacortes visitors and several Southern Californians believed buried or stranded near Yellowstone Park.

Auto plunges into pedestrians near jewelry store
An out-of-control car drove through a line of bus waiting pedestrians and into a jewelry shop door. Driver W. S. McDonald of East St. Louis said brake failure followed engine revving. Mrs. Jessie Bennett, among the injured, was found under the car. Mary’s Hospital treated others as bystanders gathered.
