D W Harwell Dies In High Point At 25
Duffy Weaver Harwell aged 25 died Saturday afternoon at his Willowbrook home. He was buried Sunday at Oakwood after services at South Main Street Methodist church conducted by Rev H H Rob Simes. He came from Haywood county to High Point about a year ago and is survived by his parents J A Harwell, three brothers and sisters. A large crowd attended the Main Street M E church service at 3 o clock yesterday.

Explosion Kills Eight at Harlan Morris Stave Plant
Eight men died in an early morning boiler explosion at the Harlan Morris Stave company in Jackson Tennessee. Three boilers failed, blowing debris up to 200 yards and injuring and missing workers among a workforce of over 75. The blast occurred with no definite cause yet at noon.
