Protestants N C Asks Delay In Bus Decision
Atty Gen Robert Morgan plans to ask state superintendent of public instruction for delay on enforcement of a federal court order banning school bus transportation for thousands of children in North Carolina. The district court ruled the state not obligated to provide bus service for all children, or only some, in cities and annexed areas since 1957. The plan to end religiously tinged conflict includes a five point peace plan involving Northern Ireland. Virginia forecast cooler tonight and mild, dry weekend. North Carolina temperatures mostly below normal with scattered rain through Sunday and possible showers Monday.

Nixon China talks and U S easing stance amid tensions
The Nixon administration signals consultative actions with Congress if a crisis arises over a potential land war in Thailand and stresses that easing relations with Communist China should not prompt Soviet willingness to discuss nuclear limits. U S policy aims to avoid a two-China posture while making China less isolated. A separate Florence, South Carolina report notes 30 arrests as youths and adults riot, with property damage and charges for breaking and entering and loitering.
