Humphrey Faces His Biggest Battle With Terminal Cancer
Hubert Humphrey, longtime senator and former vice president candidate, faces terminal pelvic cancer deemed inoperable after surgery to relieve a blocked intestine. Dr. John Najarian said the tumor is malignant and cannot be removed, with chemotherapy possibly holding it in check. Humphrey, 66, had cancerous bladder removed last October and may return to the Senate by September if no complications arise.
