Dr Rozzelle Guest Pastor At 1st Church

Dr Rozzelle a well known High Point figure serves as guest pastor at the First Church of God in Concord as the evening speaker. He previously led Wesley Memorial Methodist Church from 193? to 1945 and taught religion while serving as chaplain at High Point College. He resides in Winston Salem. Min J P Kinley, a prominent layman from Concord, will speak tonight.

Rev E W Clapp of Archdale Baptist Church will conduct morning services at Allen Jay Baptist Church Sunday. Rev Jack Lanier of Gordonton will conduct evening services. Both pastors are former members of Allen Jay. Pastor Rev George H Wallace is conducting a revival at First Baptist Church in Dyer Tennessee.

The For es His Presbyterian Church youth group organizes a summer program three months after forming. Without a pastor or building, members borrowed tents from funeral homes and used a member’s lawn as classrooms. A neighbor lends a backyard baseball diamond and a field for badminton and volleyball. Older youth, led by capable leaders, build a chapel and council room in a wooded pasture owned by a member.

Spiritual Life Week at First Baptist Church Aug two to twenty three

First Baptist Church observes Spiritual Life Week from August 2 to 23 led by Rev. Harold Cole executive secretary of the Division of Christian Higher Education. Cole previously served as secretary of student work for the North Carolina Baptist Convention and has ministerial experience in several states. He is a graduate of several colleges and seminaries and has spent eleven years in student work in the Carolinas. The schedule includes worship services seminars and youth activities with church youth serving in various roles during the week. Also noted is a visit by Rev. Worth Grant, missionary to Japan, speaking at Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church and Roanoke Rapids church events during the same period. Youth Week at Conrad Memorial Baptist Church is announced for August 20-27.

Baptists Select Organist for North Alain Church

In a Wednesday meeting the North Alain Baptist Church called Mrs. Mary Lou Jarrett to be organist. She will play for Sunday services, assist the adult and youth choirs, and begin August 28. A rising junior at High Point College she previously served as organist and children's choir director at Efland Methodist Church and organist at North Gate Presbyterian Church in Durham. While at Duke she accompanied freshman ceremonies and served as student accompanist for four college glee clubs.

Rev Ayers Assumes Pastorate At Ward Street Church Of God

Rev Ayers assumes the pastorate of Church of God of Prophecy on Ward Street. He succeeds Rev W R Nunnery, who takes another church assignment in Rocky Mount. Ayers comes from Rolesville near Raleigh where he led the Rolesville church. He is a Winston-Salem native, attended Shoals High School and Bible School in Cleveland Tennessee. He has nine years in ministry, is married with four children, and the family lives at 2003 Almyne Street.
