Tragic 12YearOld Killed by Switch Engine in Ashboro Yard
Ernest Nicholson aged 12 was riding the Ashboro train in the Southern railway yards when he leaped from a coach in front of a slowly moving switch engine. The wheels severed his head and shoulders, killing him instantly near the south end of the shed. His companion John Mason narrowly escaped. Dr. T M Stanton attended. body sent to J W Sechrest and Son for burial preparations.

Mrs Lucy Rayle Dies at 83 in High Point Area
Mrs Lucy Rayle died yesterday morning at her son Charlie Stone's home on the High Point Greensboro highway at age 83 after a long illness. She was grandmother to Mrs FE Jacobs and R H Norman and well respected locally. The funeral was held at 10 am at the residence with Rev C P Coble delivering the sermon. Interment followed in Oakwood cemetery.

Infantile paralysis epidemic eases with fewer new cases

Mrs Sarah Oakley dies after illness
Mrs. Sarah Oakley died Friday at her home after several months of pellagra illness. She was born October 29 1852 in Surry county and was about 64. Survived by two sons J M of High Point and J R of Mt Airy and two daughters Mrs C M Taylor and Mrs Mary Sechrest, both of High Point. Funeral services were held at her residence yesterday at 3 p m conducted by Rev Geo Walker with interment at Oakwood cemetery two miles south of the city.

Farriss to Join Relief Party Touring Western North Carolina
