Plan To Aid Chronically Ill Given Funds
The United States Public Health Service awarded the Guilford County Chronic Illness and Rehabilitation Foundation $38,375 for a three year program to coordinate home care services for the chronically ill in Guilford County. The project includes a central information office, staff of two nurses and two homemakers plus a medical consultant team, with offices in Greensboro and High Point. It aims to reach all chronically ill residents, including those who can and cannot pay, and to develop convalescent rehab, job opportunities, and service coordination. The grant is part of 44 nationwide community studies for 1962-63 and the countywide effort builds on a 1956 study and a 1958 survey identifying needs.
