Reconversion Plan Speeds Peacetime Industry Shift
Washington moves to finish a five point reconversion plan guiding the shift from wartime to civilian production. WPB will remove production controls as soon as feasible while guarding price and wage stability and maintaining essential materials for civilian goods. The plan, directed by President Truman, aims to cushion industry from a sudden surrender and uses wartime priorities to ease bottlenecks in consumer goods.
