Advisory Commission for Economic Information Inaugurated
Amsterdam July 13. The Advisory Commission for Economic Information was inaugurated at The Hague to direct Holland's postwar commercial offensive. Chairman W F C L Van Rappard, ministers and chamber leaders from Amsterdam and Rotterdam head the directorate with industry and shipping magnates. J J Louden said postwar traffic obstacles require preparatory projects to aid producers and refresh colonial markets. Government plans include more travel facilities, enlarged councils, and expert missions to colonies. Louden noted his days in office are numbered but the commission will endure.

Evidence arose from intercepted messages as voyages avoided British patrols and documents concealed true deals. Fortunes were made in Iceland amid secret routes and hidden end destinations.
