In Belleville Ontario police held 1 year old William Bryan after a night of free lodging. They later recovered a missing washroom comb from his possession along with a lighter and 18 master keys. The youth was lectured and held for investigation.

Everett Wiles a 34 year old North Carolina outlaw linked to counterfeiting and the 1931 slaying of a North Wilkesboro constable was arrested after agents raided his Virginia tourist cabin. Officers seized over $1000 in counterfeit bills, molds, ladles and guns. accomplice Bass Absher was jailed on counterfeiting charges. Henry Thomas of the Charlotte secret service compared Wiles to Dillinger.
A nine day institute for supervisors of FERA educational projects in the southeast opens at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill tomorrow. Supervisors from Florida Georgia South and North Carolina will attend. The school is conducted by the state emergency relief administration in cooperation with the university.
At Stonega Va August six a blast in Derby number 3 mine killed nine workers. Two men were rescued and taken to Stonega hospital while several others were believed still in the mine. Rescue efforts led by J D Rogers and A H Reeder faced deadly carbon monoxide and limited air as teams worked inside the shaft.
Langley C. Auga officers detained Mrs. Dudley Kaney pending an inquest into the death of her estranged husband, a textile operator, whom she allegedly fatally wounded during a quarrel Saturday night. As events unfolded, Kaney returned to the wife’s home, seized their child, threatened to take it, then ran to a neighbor for a shotgun and shot her husband.
