At Occidental Chemical Co in Lathrop California a section making farm chemicals was closed after doctors found 10 of 15 tested workers in their 20s and 30s were sterile or nearly so. The prime suspect is the soil fumigant DBCP though officials say no firm blame. The union pressed testing for sperm counts for about a year and production was halted pending state investigation.
