Strikers dispersed by deputies near Conestee mill

A large force of deputies and state patrol men drove off about 100 armed strikers at the Conestee mill area near Greenville. No injuries were reported and the mill resumed operations after the clash.

Ten year old Bernice Hoffman daughter of Mr and Mrs R J Hoffman of Beaumont Texas was shot and fatally wounded at a tourist camp near Hot Springs Ark an unidentified prowler who tried to enter the cabin occupied by the Hoffmans opened fire authorities said the incident occurred early today

President Roosevelt sails along U S shores toward Pacific Northwest

President Roosevelt sails off the U S coast aboard the cruiser New Orleans en route to Astoria Oregon. Houston and Orleans cruise along the Oregon coast and head toward the Columbia River as part of a historic voyage. He will debark in Portland Friday morning and then proceed by country train to the Bonneville project in Washington and on to Glacier National.

Navy entry located in balloon contest
