High Point Board sticks to decision on snow days
High Point Education chair A Laurin Welborn said there are no plans to reconsider the board's decision to make up four lost school days from January snow. The board, in a 4-0 vote April 19, lengthened the school year to June 5. Student protests formed at junior and senior highs, aided by student leaders who proposed a plan to deal with lost days, though Welborn had not seen details. The State Board allows forfeiting up to five weather days with state approval.
