Washington April 25 A 50 cent per thousand duty on shingles was urged before the senate finance committee by 25 Republican agricultural tariff senators. Shingles are currently duty free. The bloc also pushed higher rates on various farm products beyond administration proposals and warned of a floor battle if committee approval fails.
The funeral of Mrs Lula C Ves tal who died Sunday afternoon was held today at 2 30 PM at Green Street Baptist Church. The service was led by Rev J B Lanier and Rev J M Hilliard with active pallbearers list and honorary pallbearers named. Interment details follow the service.
