Dulles Says Ike Policies Force Soviet Peace Move in Korea

Secretary of State Dulles said Eisenhower policies push the USSR into a peace defensive and possibly an armistice in Korea. He warned the Kremlin to match the true peace offensive and warned against Soviet attempts to overthrow free governments. Dulles spoke to the American Society of Newspaper Editors and outlined continued Western strength building and Europe’s growing reliance on its own defense. He noted possible armistice in Korea and outlined plans for NATO cohesion and economic stability to thwart Soviet aims.

Armistice Talks Back On As 100 POWs To Be Exchanged

The United Nations and the Communists agreed to resume full scale Korean armistice talks next Saturday after a pre armistice exchange in Panmunjom. Negro Held For Robbery Assault Of White Woman

Detectives arrested Robert Tyson, 34, of 1610 Oneka Street after a white woman was beaten and robbed on Meredith Street. Tyson confessed to the robbery and the purse and $51 found in the pocketbook were recovered. The injured victim, Mrs. Margaret Hayworth, was taken to Municipal Hospital with a broken nose and facial injuries.

Marines Simulate Atomic Blast Scorches Desert in Nevada Exercise

Two thousand two hundred Marines maneuvered during a spring nuclear exercise near Las Vegas.
