First Quarter Earnings Rise At Major Firms
AP News report details first quarter earnings for RCA Chrysler Westinghouse IBM and DuPont. RCA swung to 343 million with 44 cents a share from 17 million 21 cents. Chrysler turned to 72 million profit after a 941 million loss. Westinghouse up 43 percent to 472 million. IBM up 25 percent in net income with 5.4 per share. DuPont expected to near 200 a share from 39 cents.
