Adoption Agency Aims to Improve California Child Matching
Hollywood April 18 Dick Powell and 30 others including June Allyson form the Adoption Home of California a non profit non religious group to license soon. The plan seeks licensed operation with private donations and a large pool of prospective parents to better match children to families. The agency will publicize its work to hospitals maternity homes and small clinics and reduce the private adoptions that often fail to fit child and parents. Powell notes the effort follows the vebraneros reform group and aims to curb lengthy waiting times and uneven matching.
